Research Projects

In the five years since the creation of the Centre for Micro Finance, we have conducted dozens of research projects across India and with a diversity of partners including microfinance institutions, banks, technology companies etc. Driving all of our research are questions at the core of the provision of financial services and products for the poor. How does microfinance impact the creation and profitability of businesses? Do the poor benefit from financial literacy training? How effective is branchless banking as a channel for financial inclusion? Does access to financial services equate to usage? Our research can be grouped thematically into the following categories, though certain studies are cross-listed between several categories. Click on each category to see the portfolio of projects.
